ABOUT ME

Hello, Good Evening and Welcome to My Blog!

I'm Claire and I live in Aberdeen(shire), Scotland, UK. I am a wearer of many hats not all of which fit desperately well and occasionally they fall off. Volunteer, foodie, mum, blogger, domestic goddess, shopaholic, yogi, wife, procrastinator, runner... The list goes on ad infinitum.

I've been blogging as Foodie Quine since August 2012. It was suggested by some that I should share my ongoing adventures in food on the interweb. Bet they wish they'd kept their mouths shut now...

So why Foodie Quine?

Foodie - foody [ˈfu:di] Someone greatly (even excessively) interested in the preparation and consumption of good food. Epicure, Gastronome, Gourmet, Bon Vivant
Quine - quean (Scottish Doric dialect) a young woman, girl or daughter. A female person from Aberdeen/shire

I'm a farmer's daughter from The Black Isle and back in the swinging sixties my Mum was a cookery demonstrator with The Hydro Board. I blame them for everything. My foodie adventures started at an early age. Santa brought me a Brownie Guide Cookbook and my collection has grown ever since.

A mum of two and wife of one, I'm passionate about cooking from scratch, seasonality, food education and family-friendly recipes. I'm always keen to seek out local food specialities, markets and experiences whilst travelling in the UK and abroad and I'm eager to champion local farmers, suppliers and producers. I've even managed to pass some of this enthusiasm onto my children. Boy is a fellow foodie who loves sushi and barbecue. Girl is more of a chips and chicken nugget connoisseur.

"Foodie Quine" is my daily occupation. It is my business and as such I work closely with some carefully selected brands. Any paid or gifted activity will be clearly disclosed within the post and all content will be suitable and relevant for my blog. Integrity is of the utmost importance to me. All of my opinions and views are completely genuine regardless of any commercial relationships.

My addiction to social media knows no bounds.
You can follow me on Twitter @foodiequine
I also blether on Facebook and would like it very much if you would like me.
Pinning on Pinterest is another of my time wasting antics.
Oh and pretty pictures on Instagram

Final word. If you love my logo and branding as much as I do, please check out the fantastic mimihammill.com

Thank You and Goodnight
